i still battle to come completely to terms with Photoshop but have a much better time using Paintshop Pro X ( Corel now not Jasc ) as it's a little more user friendly (and cheaper)

yea unfortanately the reason it is cheaper is because it is decreased in quality it sucks. photoshop can do3204950-32945-09 times mroe things its incredible. corel = noob gear. that is why i dont like using it? its like using frontpage instead of using notepad or dreamweaver to code a site.

I use Photoshop, of course. In addition, I also make liberal use of Adobe Illustrator, Corel Painter and Alias SketchBook Pro. But my most important tool isn't software, but a Wacom Intuos3 tablet. My work didn't begin to take on any personality until I got this baby; hand drawn graphics really help to give my designs a more unique and natural look, as opposed to the usual super-glossy and pixel-perfect graphics.

In real life, most of the things we read are printed on textured and imperfect mediums. On the web, it looks like everything was printed on a light bulb.

I bought one of those for myself at Christmas. I think since then I've (kind of) used it once

Looks like it's headed for e-bay :p

Ack! I'd give that a second thought if I were you. I know a tablet can feel strange at first—mine almost became a permanent dust collector when I first tried it out—but after forcing myself to familiarize myself with it, I find it utterly indispensable.

Even if I didn't use it for the actual creation of designs, I'd still keep it around for tasks like masking, cropping, etc. A mouse feels like a big arse frickin' brick in my hand after becoming proficient with the tablet's pen. If nothing else, my wrist and finger joints will thank me a few years down the road, as the pen makes these repetitive tasks a lot quicker and easier.

I don't use my wacom tablet nearly enough than what I should. Judging by your designs your certainly putting it to good use. My tablet (like many others) will gather dust no doudbt.
