installing a zend encoded script?

Default installing a zend encoded script?

ive got a script thatcomes with no install instructions and its encoded with zend.

i know my host has zend, but i dont know what im doing wrong as i keep getting this error.

Fatal error: Unable to read 33140 bytes in /*****/*****/*****/vb30/admincp/install.php on line 0


anyone know how to correct this?

i believe so ..... but do they all need to be uploaded in binary, or is it certain files only?

Encoded files need to be uploaded in binary.

well **** i guess i had something wrong cause it is installing now.

I suppose it was still transffering them as ascii

They are a pain because most FTP clients recognize the php extension as ASCII automatically.

I use smartftp and it has a setting to force binary on that upload so no changes needed. Other apps probably have something similar.

i use flash .... and i couldnt see an option to easily to do it... so like i said i just removed it from my ascii list.

Flash: Session->Transfer Mode->Binary

As easy as it gets, 2 seconds at most to switch :p

Or even easier: put binary as default mode, you almost never will need to change. ;)
