What's the code to show a certain user group online?

I don't want the username to appear in "who's online section", but I want to code to be able to change their online status to make them appear online even when they are not.


I'm sure it can be done using conditionals, but I'm not too sure on where to get started.

If anyone can do this using usergroups, that'd be so cool.
