Im having a problem. Im trying to apply a CSS effect to my forum, ill use this CSS as an example:

Im putting the code in my pagebackground additional CSS but when i save it the effect is applied to this area (shown by the red):



But this isnt what i want. I only want it to apply to the background, not everything ontop of the background like the forums. This is the area i want the effect to be applied to:



I need this to be compatible in ie and firefox so reversing the css on everything i dont want it to be applied to isnt an option (because it only works in IE), i.e in this case:

p.s and i know this filter will only work in IE anyway, im just using that as an example
