What Lee said.

3.5.4 is brilliant. There are a couple of features in 3.6 which I think really should've been in 3.5, such as the pm preview in the notification email, and people who are under 13 can't then change their age to over 13 on registration (part of coppa), and it woulda been nice if the plugins were listed by product in 3.5.4 but overall it's excellent.

Some of the comments at VBSEO suggest that 3.6 isn't ready quite ready yet so I plan to wait a bit before upgrading.

I'm a new user, so yes I'm happy or I would not have purchased. That said, depending where I am in my final forum setup when 3.6 goes gold I may wait a while before upgrading or I may move faster.

FWIW, I will not upgrade until the VB manual is fully updated and complete documentation on the new features exists. I may also consider what the status of various plugins is verus 3.6 and exactly what the upgrade process is. I like the simple upgrade process of SMF and if VB gets to be that simple I would upgrade more readily.

-Danny.

I have already updated one board to 3.6, will wait on my other boards for a stable release and for some larger mods to be updated as well.

I have already upgraded... pm system doesn't work, cron jobs don't work, the sql only half rights it self during upgrade. IT'S KILLING ME!

I'll probably upgrade, but not until it's ready

I'm still on 3.5.0 ... Everything works ok, I've installed loads of hacks. Upgrading seems like a pain in the arse. I'll do it when I have to.

I'll never use the multiquote feature, I think too many buttons will confuse people. Apart from that I have no idea what other features it has.

I'm happy with 3.5. I have too many hacks to upgrade every month or two.

vB has some very good features but to be honest I abandoned it because it bored me very much

all the themes and templates are the same just the graphics keep changing and nothing new

the arcade system truly and totally sucks

but the rep system and control panel are really good features

I have switched over to SMF and it truly and totally kicks ***!

Yes it is true that SMF is a little more hard to get started with but that is because it is designed for people who like to get INSIDE the software and take control of nearly every single aspect of their board.

And I truly feel that SMF meets my demands where I can truly gt in control and customize absolutely 90% of the things including how the board system itself works! This is not possible with vB since u can only keep adding hacks and mods and cant really modify key files since its against vB policy.

Also in comparison SMF is free while vB costs a lot.

So over all no I am not at all happy with vB and have completely abandoned it as a choice of any future projects or ventures or recommendations I make.
