Default Using MySpace to your advantage...

I've been hearing alot lately of forum admins creating profiles on myspace with their forum as the main subject and actually getting some pretty decent traffic from it.

I would love to hear more about what these admins are doing. So if you or know anybody that does this please have them chip in their .02

Using myspace as a free form of advertising?

:p

I'm up to 1135 "friends". I think it's a great way to advertise to groups that have the same particular interest as your forum.

Myspace is one of the top 10 sites on the entire Internet. :speechles And the crazy thing is that setting up an account there is free.

Many companies are realizing that this is great free way to reach millions of customers. Here's an example I ran across while doing some preliminary research:
http://www.myspace.com/streetglowinc

I haven't had a chance to completely research how I want to use it, but I definitely plan on doing it.

I had a few of my staff members post a myspace account with features we dont have on the forums such as interviews etc. So far, i ahvent noticed any upturn in traffic, but it has only been up for about a week. If i get anywhere with it, i'll come back and let you know.

I thought about MySpace, but I am wondering where are the limits in regards to niche targeting. Is MySpace more for teens or are the twens in there, too? I am trying to promote a pregnancy and parenting forum and just don't think it would be the right niche for a MySpace campaign.

...Sure, it wouldn't be right to easily reach 20k+ people with a few clicks that are already in myspace groups regarding those 2 niches. :classic:

Myspace has a wide deomgraphics... heck, I was at a convention last weekend and people were marketing themselves by giving out their myspace urls.
