Good idea. Simply reimport the default vB skin under a different name and get playing :p

Heh, alright. There should be no need to change the template structure a whole lot, unless you're making something very funky.

But personally I think a nice asthetic site is always good, you want to stand out from the rest of the pack. You can usually get a good design around $300 but you can pay less to for lower quality and even higher to get a better quality.

In the end it's the face of your site so don't skinny on areas that need attention.
Great topic Rex. I am a newbie here but I think I can provide a great example. I think it all depends on the type of site you are running. We opened up our forum less than a year ago. You can see our thread/forum here if interested: http://www.vbhackers.com/showthread....4784#post24784
If we did not change our style I do not think we would have had anywhere the amount of interested participants we have know. We had to make our forum stand out from the rest of them. We recently discovered performing hacks and recently have further enhanced our site. The response is overwhelming. However, having a great style is key. And a lot of great styles are free. We are proud to have our design creator's link on the bottom of our forum for others to see!!!!!
