Default RSS feeds for content?

I know I have written about using RSS feeds with the newsbot mod but do you used RSS feeds on your site merely for news or just to add content for your members throughout your site?

When I upgrade to vb3.6 I plan to use the rss posting feature to provide some conversation pieces for my members.

I'm not too impressed with the 3.6 included rss poster. It has a lot of issues and is lacks options.

i disagree, it is fine in beta 2 and it has more options than inferno rss bot.

I use Code Monkey's articlebot.
I did try Inferno but it was a bit too inflexible.
Haven't tried the 3.6 one.

I use mine currently to add unusual "oddly enough" news. Real news is just depressing. I also grab the daily feed from damninteresting.com for my "Interesting Web Finds" forum.
Doesn't create a mass of activity but it does give some.

Inferno is just basically something thrown out there and abandoned.

Articlebot has far more features.

Articlebot Live will take it to the next level.

I agree, it is a start but definitely could use more options, such as posting the RSS Photo with the feed if it uses one, and I also noticed it has trouble with certain feeds characters when posting an auto-thread. I think it has potential but perhaps it will get there with time. I think AboutToday is the best RSS hack for vBulletin, and it's very simple to get up and running, plus the coder of that hack is great with support.

The main problem I have with RSS feeds is content length. Sometimes it's a matter of finding the right feeds, but it can be difficult finding feeds with at least a few long paragraphs without having to click on the feed link and get directed to another site, which can take away from your site.
