Default Post Swapping

Post swapping is something you do with other forum admins that have small communities. Basically it's paid posting but paid with time. What you do is find someone willing to post on your forum and for everytime they do you post back on their forum.

This does 2 things. It helps to get your forum more activity and it creates a bond with another forum admin which I love to advocate.

There are many people that engage in this type of exchange and it's a great way to help your site along.

That's a very good idea, never thought of that before

I've seen some sites that cater just to forum swaps..

How many times have you tried to engage in post exchanges?

I haven't done this is a very long time, mainly b/c of time constraints. But I've done it quite a few times in the past.

I also used to do this back in the day, but haven't had a need to do it in recent projects.

Oh, same here - I used to do post exchanges for an hour or two a day.

I'm not sure I agree with post swapping. It's a good idea in theory but, well, someone wrote an article on TAZ that'll explain.

Myth #4: http://www.theadminzone.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=22060

I'm not against them by any means, I just think if you're going to spend a while making posts, you may as well do it on your own board, perhaps under a 2nd account. That way you can control more accurately what's posted and if anyone asks you something related to the thread, you can answer it (a post : post person may never be back to reply).

Of course part of other side of that is the slight feeling of guilt because you're effectively decieving the members into thinking it's someone else. Personally I can live with that given the benefits.
