vbseo is a Great product ;)

ppl complain about the price, but I've paid 100-200-300$ for scripts or software in the past, and have been very happy with it ;)

I've made my money back on vbseo, and within a year I'll triple what I spent Easy !..

As i said b4, if you can't afford it, don't use it..
but don't trash it because you think it's to much money.. it's obvious that not everyone has the same outlook about vbseo as you.. I hope you don't use it so I have the advantage ;)

btw when i say "you" its not directed to anyone,, its in general

it's a great script, well worth the pocket change, plus your url's look cool to users and search engines...lol

That's a matter of opinion. Other forum software works everybit just as good, and doesn't cost an arm and a leg like vB does. It's over priced because they want to set an 'image' - not because it's special. We have several licenses already but we won't be buying ANY new vB licenses strickly because it's over priced in our opinion. We'll buy a used license instead and just update it. The only problem is it's hard to find them, but they are out there from time to time

It isn't a matter of opinion. Just FYI, that's marketing 101 in every college marketing course.

Never said we don't use it. I said we'll never give vB any more of our money, and instead we'll buy used licenses ;)

I s'pose there are some who would prefer I didn't revive this topic, but I just finished reading these 11 pages and saw a lot of people complain or comment about the "high" price of vBSEO. Expensive is a relative term, I guess. I know I'm not the only one who doesn't think $149.00 is a lot of money. Heck, I've spent more than that on things that didn't last as long or give me nearly as much value as I think this does.

What does your plumber make? I had a sink hooked up and the water lines fixed and in about 3 hours I gave him a check for 210.00 -- less than 20 bucks was parts. My hair dresser gets almost 20.00 for less than a half hour of work. I have a housekeeper that comes once a week and gets 50.00 for 3 hours work. My attorney charges me 300.00 per hour to talk on the damn phone. I usually make between 75.00 - 200.00 per hour, depending on the project and profit margin on the materials I use.

How much does the average SEO make? How 'bout an above average SEO? How many hours of work to make about 150.00? Three, maybe less, maybe a little more?

Well, I know very little about SEO and, in fact, it doesn't hold much interest for me, so what I do know, I ain't too good at. I like floors. I love the money I can make on floors. I would much rather do floors than SEO. But even if I liked SEO and knew twice what I know now, how long would it take me to do the kind of things vBSEO does? Or what if I just hire a SEO? How many hours would it take them to do to my particular website what vBSEO has done -- and how often will he/she have to come back to do more SEO when I add sections, pages and other features to my website?

Think all that would cost me more than 150.00? I have a feeling it would cost me a lot more than 150.00 -- and a lot more than just dollars. I don't know if there are any statistics that could unequivocally prove that vBSEO helped in my ranking or my membership numbers. But I wouldn't have any more proof that a real live SEO did either. It's a matter of trust, to some extent and I trust vBSEO and the people who develop and support it.

I don't really know that a 40.00 a yard Tactese Stain Master nylon will last or work as well as a 15.00 per square yard staple yarn nylon in your particular situation any more than I know if vBSEO will be better than the free or DIY SEO I could do. I just like the way it makes me feel.

R'gards,

Jim

It's not just about the high price of vbseo. It's also about the encryption... ;)

The safety of my database is worth more to me than anything else on my forum, and vBseo doesn't have a copyright on the whole search engine idea. They are only the ones who advertise it the most ;)

I understand what you're saying, but like I said in my previous post...

I'm okay with the encryption thing and expect that we will see this more and more in the Internet application development fields. Companies like this will have to build credibility or they just won't succeed. This company I trust and everyone else will have to make that decision for themselves.

Jim

I highly doubt that. Credible companies know that it's hard for customers to trust what lies beneath the encryption. Encryption has been around for a long time, and there's a reason why it never caught on. Two words - comet cursor ;)
