Default Have you tried using Digg.com ?

If you have a technology related forum something relevant to technology then you should try writing up something new or getting pictures of something never seen or just writing some controversial to submit to Digg.com, while Digg doesn't bring that great of "new members" it sure will get you some viewage.

Be aware though that digg doesn't like spam. Or to put it more accurately, they'll report you, block you and get really really ****y with you.

Anything you do submit has to be a good site or article, and it has to be an original. Little sitse will be ignored and fade out, and using your site to link to another on the web will also get you flamed (bloggers do this a lot).

And don't use signature adverts, they hate that too.

Also be aware that 10000s of people read dig, your site has to be ready for it.

Apart from all that, yeah digg has a wide geek audience and should be considered if you have something to offer

Can it cause a slashdot effect? That would be funny! Well, write a really good article here on vbhackers and let's submit it? See what happens?

well maybe my articles weren't so much quality for them but they only brought me a few people.

The funny is that submitting a review for hf2 ep1 would be success

I have done this some in the past and found it to be pretty successful at times.

If you make front page then yeah you can get an influx of probably tens of thousands of hits. If you don't make front page and it slides out of the submission queue then you might get 10-20-50 hits depending how good the write up is.

The thing is this:
http://digg.com/search?search=theadm...&submit=Submit
Out of 16 stories relating to TAZ, only one made front page and that's only cos it has a big topic: spam

You have to produce something very special, or very well worded (i.e. give a great ajax tutorial, flame the riaa) to get frontpaged on digg.
