Best way to grow an Adult forum?

Being 'Adult Orientated' I have found that I can't add my site to the directories, like the ones in this post:

List of web directories...

It seems having an adult site means I can't promote the same as everyone else, free promotion that is.

This is my first attempt at having a web site so I don't know much about marketing.

Can you guys please give me an idea where the best places to advertise/promote an adult forum are?
