Hello all,
I've been creating a mod to track all valid and invalid logins and also logouts. It writes this information to a table in the forum database and/or a log file. It is based on the "Log Logins" mod, so I'll give credit where it's due for a very handy mod!

Anyway, my question is this. At install it creates the table in the database, and at uninstall it has uninstall code to remove the database.

Is it possible in the uninstall code to ask the user if they want to keep the database, or remove it, if so, how would I go about doing this? Obviously the php / sql behind it I can work out, it's more to do with how would I get vb to ask the user if they wish to remove the database.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

2 work-arounds comes to my mind:

1] work-around will be based on redirecting to a middle page that will require another submitting, and on the submit you will perform the uninstall code.
Downside: You cannot guarantee the user will actually submit second page...

2] create some middle config/setting files hosted on server.
Default file values indicate full uninstall & user could change value to control operation.
For example php file with something like:
PHP Code:
$bPerformFullUninstall = 1;
then just left to include the external php during uninstall code & act based on variable value...

Hope this helps.
Regards,
Idan.

btw, i would consider giving this insight (request) to vbulletin developers, maybe we will be able to see some built-in feature like this on next versions - can sure be handy.
Regards,
Idan.

Ian,
Thanks for the replies. Including sounds like a simple way to achieve it.
