ok, so I took a backup file off mysql on my my real site and then I added it to apache and did everything else that was said to do. Now When I goto my page, its blank, and then when I goto view my pages either they come up blank or full of code. How do I get this thing Functional? lol

could be a silly question, but did you install php and mysql on the apache-server?

I suppose you did add the mysql as you imported the db, but can handle php files?

I followed Live-wire's directions (first post)and shaved ape's on page 2. I created a new database ad called it "Newest" for now, I then added the backup.sql from my real forums into that database. WHen I run just, http://localhost, I get that first page(PHPgeek.com presents) so that page comes up right. hm. I've got to be missing something along the line.

unless your forum is in the www dir or whater phpgeek uses as the server root your prolly just missing the dir off the url

try http://localhost/forum/ or whatever

with appserv the index at localhost gives details of what server version your running as well as links to phpmyadmin and some other stuff i forget what but all my test boards are in there own dir inside of /www/ on my server pc so on that pc i go directly to http://localhost/testboard/
