vB 3.6.0 Compatible!
Template Modification
This hack signifies who the original thread starter is throughout an entire thread. It's a great feature for multi-page and extra long threads. This modification will work for either postbit style, and comes in a choice of four image colors (black, white, red and blue) to match any postbit background!

It's a great way to encourage members to start new threads because only they will receive the 'Thread Starter' image in their postbit. See screenshot below for more information. This modification has been fully tested and works in both 3.5.x and 3.6.x versions of vB. Enjoy

OMG Colonel Ingus! This looks like a great feature. I went on a hack hiatus for awhile, but this one made me go off my diet. WOW!!!!!!

I installed this in 3.54 and it does appear to work. However, how often is the Thread Starter suppose to come up during the thread? I notice it is not in every post in the thread but rather it is every couple of posts. Is this how it is supposed to show up, or is it suppose to be in every post of the thread starter? And if this is correct, is it possible to make it show up in all the posts rather than in every other one? Thanks again for the wonderful hack and please let me know if it sounds like it is working right on our website.

LOL... that's funny

This hack is low on carbohydrates so enjoy ;)

It will show up in every post that the thread starter makes in that particular thread. For example;

Bob is going to start a new thread. Mary and William are going to post right afterward, so it should look like this;

Bob <- image appears in this post.

Mary <- NO image in this post.

William <- NO image in this post.

Bob <- image appears in this post.

Mary <- NO image in this post.

If you post a linky I can check it for you

Yeah, I tried to go on a diet but this is a feature we must have. LOL! We made some color changes which you will see, too.

Okay, about the hack. All is well for the first few thread starter posts but take a look at posts 40, 60, and 76 for example. It isn't showing up there. It does show up in later posts, but not in all of them for some reason. I wonder why it is doing this? Regardless, it is amazing feature and should be a default feature on vbulletin. Here is the link:

Thanks!!!!!!

Ah yes, Vettes

My cousin has three of them. Two are collectors and one he drives. By far GM's best car ;)

Ok regarding the hack, it doesn't appear to be working right on your forum. You've got a lot of hacks on there and my guess is that one of them is interfering with something. This hack is using standard vB code, so there is no reason why it shouldn't be working correctly. If it shows up in the first post, it should also be showing up in every post that member has in that thread. You might want to try double checking everything and/or running some of the maintenance tools and see if that finds what's wrong with the forum.

Hey Ingus, I try looking my forum in I.E, and found that the line don't cover the img "thread starter". What can I do?

That happens when the image is too big, or the CSS has been changed.

Hi Colonel Ingus. Oh, wow, this is gonna be hard to do but I certainly tried to look for something. We do have dozens and dozens of hacks but it does not appear that any other hack is acting weird. I am not saying there isn't but there isn't anything obvious. I did go to maintenance tools and ran some updates but it didn't fix it. Grrrrrrrrr! This is a great hack but I don't see how I could ever find out the problem if this is a hack compatibility problem. O well, I guess you can't win them all. I haven't given up yet but we will see what happens. If you come up with any ideas please let me know.

Do you know if there are similar hacks like this roaming around that I could maybe try? I notice there are a lot of hacks that have similar functions and maybe if I put one in with a different code it will work?

I also wonder is it a problem with the version? I am running 3.54 and this was made for 3.6, right?

By the way congrats on becoming a staff member and advanced coder here. Excellent choice. I imagine if you can get your hack to work on my hack infested forum you will make administrator. LOL!

Update: Still didn't find anything suspicious but you know something I remember we had a similiar thing going on with the forum escape button. The button wasn't showing up in all the posts. You did an update and it showed up in all posts after that. I wonder if this is a similar thing.

I did install another major hack. Yes, I know I am supposed to be on a diet but I wanted to see if I install another new hack if it would act weird. It actually works perfectly so I am thinking this may be more of a hack compatability thing. But, I am not an experienced coder either. But, I would think if there was additional hacks would not work on the forum.

I guess we will have to see if either we can determine it is not hack compatibility related or see if this happens to others. If anyone experiences the same effect please let it be known. Thanks.

I don't see how this encourages people to post new threads, you just get an image in the post bit, no bonuses or anything...

Looks like he researched the effects and it indeed does.

I already received comments on our forum about it being a neat little feature and it isn't even working as intended. So it is definitely an attention getter.

Hopefully, one day ours will work perfectly.
