Show Thread Enhancements - Remove user titles W/ user ranks

Have you ever wanted to add a rank in your vB software but found that when you did that the user title was redundant and said the same basic thing? It looks pretty silly on your forum doesn't it? We'll just remove the user title in the ACP and it should go away right? We'll not so fast... Unfortunately removing user titles is not a supported feature in vB, not even 3.6! But all is not lost. Download this modification and learn how you can accomplish this by adding a simple conditional ;)


This code has been tested and shown to be compatible with vB 3.6. Enjoy

One thing: that just takes it away if there isn't a title. You could a is member of so if you r a mod then it won't show the title.

No it removes the title only when a rank image is used which is what you'd want, otherwise the user title would be redundant ;)

In other words;

Instead of it looking like this:

Member-name
Moderator
{Moderator} <-- Rank Image


It looks like this:

Member-name
{Moderator} <-- Rank Image

great hack, I spent a few hours one night trying to remove the title on a site, or I should I was looking for a setting.

No problem loco I'm glad that it was useful for you. This was one of my first hacks ever and I wrote it for the reason you stated, it took me hours to figure out how to remove the user titles with user ranks, and when I finally found the answer I figured it could save others a lot of time too :p
