Hello, this sounds like a great hack. What is meant by 3.54 Beta 4?

We are running version 3.54 and I don't remember a Beta 4 with it?

Will it work as long as you have version 3.54? Thanks.

You'd have to ask Livewire about that ;) There was no way that we could change/modify that when we posted this hack. We have already brought it to his attention. I think it was supposed to say 3.6 Beta 4. You shouldn't have any issues with using 3.5.4 as I'm not aware of any changes made from 3.5.4 to 3.6 in postbit.

You are welcome! If Livewire is aware about it, then I don't think it is necessary for me to let him know. Hopefully, he will stop in this thread and give us an update.

If there were changes made to the postpit from 3.54 and 3.6 what would happen if I installed it on 3.54? Would it cause a bad thing to happen? If not, I will perhaps just try it out on our forum and see how it goes.

Most likely the center of the earth would over-heat as a seismic shift would occur, causing huge earthquakes would wide ...OK, maybe not :p

Since you would (of course) make a backup of the postbit legacy template before modifying it, you wouldn't have to worry about anything bad occuring (always get in the good habit of backing up all files that you modify). This hack was tested on 3.5.1 so you should be good to go. If anything did ever happen, all you'd have to do would be to simply overwrite it with your backup copy ;)

Enjoy

Hi Colonel Ingus

I realized this is a template modification so my fears were allieviated. We have several styles on our forum and I just use one that we play around with and made the changes there so if something went crazy it would be no big deal. That is good advice though you are giving.

I did the image upload, made the edits, and made the changes to the template it it appears the postpits of the usergroups selected all had a black background instead of an image. I don't know why that is. I rechecked and all seemed right so I am scratching my head here. I am new to hacking so I imagine I inputed something wrong. But do you know off hand what I may have messed up here?

Thanks again for providing support for your hack.

It is my pleasure to help you Doggy1

What happens when you try to view your image directly?

If you see a black image then your image may be corrupt and you may need to make a new one. Also make sure you uploaded it correctly, usually setting your FTP client to automatic should work fine. If you post the URL to the image here I will check it for you in Photoshop
