i Think This Is Not Really A Hack But I Made It For My Own Forum And I Just Wanted To Share It With You.

It's All Pretty Simple, And Basic, But Maybe When It Appears To Be Fun And Stuff, I Will Go And Take A Better Look.

I'm Using PJIRC As The Chat Applet, Since It's Free And Open-Source. For More Languages (I Only Included ENGLISH) You Can Visit Their Website.

Check The Installation.txt file for more info, or check the screenshots.
Some Basic Functions:

* WebBased IRC Chat Applet In Forum Style
* Auto-Join Channel(s)
* Settings For Primary And Secundary NICK
* Settings For Default Names
* Size Of The Applet Can Be Customised
* Allow People To Join Only One Or All Channels On The Server
* Allow People To Join Only One Or Multiple Servers
* All IRC Commands Are Recognised
* Chat Colors

** What To Do **

Templates To Edit: 0
New Templates To Add: 1
Phrases To Edit: 0
New Phrases To Add: 1
And You need to upload some files into the forum root.

** Notes **

It's All Pretty Basic As mentioned Before, But I can change A Lot Of Options If people like it.
So If You Use It, Please Click Install. Thanks.

does this Java applet, connect from the host runnig on or does it connect whit your intenet connection on you local pc...?

So that people behind a closed firewall can use IRC

I think it's connecting trough your home connection. Just because it does show your ISP info when loggin' in. But I don't get the "2 many connections from your IP" error when I use this IRC and my normal IRC on the same time... Maybe this helps:

http://www.pjirc.com/help.php

Thats the FAQ Site from the Applet/Script I used for this one.

Made a mod like this myself a while back, but was lost in a server crash (and of course
I was too stupid to back the modifications up ). This one of course being much better, namely in features, so many thanks

@stivo20
Mouselike.org are just running their own irc server, so you are still connecting to them and whichever port their server is setup on directly. Off hand I don't recall if the CGI clients out there are able to work around firewalls or not.

If you have the ability however to setup your own irc server, you may open up other ports on it besides 6667. In this way, you can direct the webbased chat to connect to that port, rather than 6667.

Yes, a very nice hack.

I don't like using IRC, but it's a good hack for sure.

Because due to some wierd reason I can't get this to work.

I eddited all files as discribed but I only get a blank output screen.
It looks like it doesnt seem to finnd the template. (I added it my excisting template by clicking add. Inserted alle code into it and saved it. It shows nicely in the template editor.)

Any ideas on what I could test to get it to work????
