Plugin
What does this do?
It's a very simple 'mod' really, it simply adds a [wikipedia] tag, so your members can easily link to wikipedia.

Example of use:
[wikipedia]Pie[/wikipedia]
Would result in:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pie

How to install
1. Unzip the .zip, and upload the image to: forumroot/images/editor/
2. Go to your BB code manager (admin cp -> Custom BB Codes -> Add New BB Code).
3. Add the following info:
Title:
You must first be a registered member to view any code.
Tag:
You must first be a registered member to view any code.
Replacement:
You must first be a registered member to view any code.
Example:
You must first be a registered member to view any code.
Description:
You must first be a registered member to view any code.
Use {option}: No
Button Image:
You must first be a registered member to view any code.

That's it! Enjoy

what would be cooler is if you took a BBC code to take the definition from somwhere like wikpedia or dictionary.com, I donu how u could get it to the words form the actual page text. Just an idea I had.

So basicly take the code directly from the page?

This would be possible if the articles have an RSS feed. Do they?

Wikipedia does support RSS - Search for WP:RSS on Wiki to get the different RSS feeds they have... but for the one you want its:

http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title={WORD}&action=history&feed=rss

Replace {WORD} with the word/phrase you want to search/look up on Wiki for

I might have the wrong RSS tho since they have quite a few...

you would have to think of a way to read a link like: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?...story&feed=rss
and then have that say that hello means something and list all the definitions of it...
I can't code that well, but umm it sounds possible for sure.

I guess thats what you would do.. lol

then if you created a bbc code that said like [def]Hello[/def]
ultimetly that would pull up a link for http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?...story&feed=rss
and read the definitions right there in the post.

I'd like to see that mod possible.
