Random Thumbs Display (Version 1.0.002)

ALL READY vBulletin 3.5.4, 3.6.0 tested, all working fine!

This mod was a request by MaxM, with this mod you can display (###) of image thumbnails anywhere and on any page in your forum. The output can be placed in template by just adding the condition, to the template you want the thumbnail images to be displayed!

The control works with each user group, so you can turn it (on) for one group while having it turned (off) for others.

Options

Turn (off, on) per user group
Show this (###) of thumbnails
How many to show per row (###)
Display on all page (yes, no)
If (do not display) on all pages [input => pages to show the thumbnails] (clickable select box with all forum pages)
Show extended information (yes, no)
Create Image Link (yes, no) [should the thumbnail be made into a URL link]
If (create link = yes) (select box options => point to topic, point to post, point to full size attachment)

Screens

prems.png

This image show the User group Permissions for the random image control!

display_noinfo.png

This shows the display with no extened info, the display is add to the FORUMHOME template for this example, then by doing a simple condition you get the display loaded...

You must first be a registered member to view any code.

display_info.png

This shows the display with extened info, the display is add to the FORUMHOME template for this example, then by doing the same simple condition as above you get the display loaded...

New Version 1.0.002

Added global scope to the random_image templates (now they are cached, no extra query)
Added new templates that maintain a nice uniformed display!
Added (dynamic) [colspan(s), width(s)] so now the display looks much nicer (evenly spaced)

The zip file in this post contains Version 1.0.002

UPGRADE Version 1.0.001 to 1.0.002

Same version as above, but if you already have 1.0.001 installed, then you only need to replace the templates and add (1) script edit, then replace (1) include file (functions_randomize.php) so it matches the new template variables!

Find that zip file by following this link!

New Display

Added another image so you can see how things now look more centered, it's all dynamic, based on how many images to display and how many rows!

Ok, 101% working now

Actually, i was a little bit sql query conscious lol lol but now after updating, every thing (except that top error while updating settings of usergroups) fine Thanks a lot Lady Sonia!

ONE BUG: Its not showing any thing for guests, although working fine for admins usergroup!

PLUS: I have thumbnails of 160*120, so do i have change anything ..?

Hi xyz,

Im having a similar problem to MaxM, I have methodically followed the steps to install your MOD. It seem all the enteries that are in the random.sql file are in the MySQL database and I uploaded the random.xml and installed that in the 'Style templates' but when I click 'Rebuild All Languages' it doesnt seem to pick up the additions.

Which results in most of the Random Image box in the Usergroup admin section showing up blank (exactly the same as the picture MaxM posted)

However the Random Image shows up on the forum with like one default thumbnail that you can not click on.

I am using version 3.6.0
