Latest X Threads on Forumhome: Advanced! v1.1.1

This an advanced version of Niels' hack. All credit for the idea and template code goes to him! All I've done is make it admincp configurable, phrased (1 phrase :p) and show the forums of the threads without an additional query per thread displayed.

Having said that, here's a howto on installing:

1. Unzip the .zip.
2. Import the Product in your Admincp.
3. Go into Style Manager, Edit Templates and edit the template FORUMHOME.
4. Add "$latest_x_threads" (without quotes) somewhere in the template. I decided to add it bellow "$navbar", but its your choice ;).
5. Save the template. You're done!

Important: v1.1.1 released.
To upgrade, please download the latest .zip (1.1.1), and run it in your admincp.

Changelog:
v1.1.1: Permission check typo fixed.
v1.1.0: Permission checks added.
v1.0.0: Initial release.

Love this hack! EXACTLY what I have been looking for. My only question is..

It doesn't appear to acknowledge the thread has been read? Is this me??

Hi,

I posted a "bug Report" with this hack. I hope I did the right thing as it seems the report has been removed.

If this is not the correct way to go about reporting something that doesn't work correctly could someone please point me in the right direction ?

It works with what even value you specifiy in the AdminCP.

Although there are some parts that are not working.

I'm using this hack from post 44 by dobberman for 3.5.4 and its working perfectly but i want to upgrade to 3.6 but i need this hack for 3.6
Can someone confirm if this is working with 3.6 and if not can some one please upgrade this for 3.6.

it does not seems to work on 3.6, it displays nothing on home
I haven't removed my other latest-thread-in-home hacks before importing this one tho

I moved the $latest_x_threads to anther place in the templates and it now works perfectly
This is a very nice hack but I prefer the 'light' version that is integrated to the what's going on box... and show the last updated threads rather than just last threads... matter of taste

Is there any way to restrict any forum so replies from those forum doesnt appear in Last Threads.

Any one for help?
