Question

Everytime this runs it puts an error file along with the backup. Is it supposed to do that? :ermm:

Also, would be nice if this deleted the previous backup either before or after it deposits the new backup. I can see this folder getting filled really quickly

Yeah.. I get the same error:

sh: line 1: my_sql_db_name: command not found

I don't mind them not deleting the old ones... I'd rather do that manually. Colonel Ingus... Reason being.. if it is backing up.. and starts with an error... but delete the OLD ones... by the time you notice and/or need it... you only have an error file on your hands.. not a good back up.

Anyhow... Any idea on that error?

It could be written to keep a weeks worth of backups intact, or 3 or 4 of them. The point is that databases can be huge size wise, and if someone forgets about (or doesn't know about) emptying the old backups, this folder is going to get so pregnant that it isn't going to be funny

Regarding your error, make sure it can see the database and that the version is correct. Hopefully someone else will come along and pin point it better for you

I'm having a problem with this...

For about a month, I've been running this and getting about 350mb files... and a 0 byte error log file

for the past 5 days, i'm getting about 140mb files, and no error log files written out.

What is the cause of this? Nothing has changed as far as I'm aware... it's just almost as if it just stops running.

Would a space issue solve this? I have more than 400mb free space on my server, plus i'm not storing it in public_html (i am on a dedicated box, and my rules are 'implied', but not governed-- the file should still write even if its past my limits... i'll just get a bill for the extra space )

i'd appreciate any help troubleshooting. Basically, when does the error log get written? last?

We see the same problem. It appears to be somewhat buggy so we'll be removing it until it's fixed :ermm:
