Hey there,

First release here, I'm sure most might know me from over at vB.org, in anycase they broke my vBShout, so here's a fixed version, with a few extra bits:

- Flatfile System (Seriously cuts any intensity this once created before)
- Bug Fix: ' used to break edit shout
- Bug Fix: Users couldn't edit/delete their shouts
- Bug Fix: Parsing problem (that vb.org created..)
- Feature Disabled: Timestamps, this is unfortunatly due to using a flat file system.

Enjoy everyone, if you have the previous vBShout installed, I suggest uninstallation the previous vBShout product then installating this one fresh (saves you havning to revert templates).

Also, this will work for any vB 3.5 installation

I understand what you are saying, but for people that clear their shouts daily it would work.......with the regular timestamp in there it just looks kinda junky..

Also, why couldn't we make the actual shoutbox look like the editor shoutbox (where you edit shouts, poster/shout/time)?

would be better if it were to be on all pages but it's still good. anyone know how to get it on all pages though?

hi there,

i had v2.0 installed on my site from vb.org and had a couple of problems, firstly and the main problem, is that it would crash my site. it wouldnt do it for every user but for me it would make it so no link i clicked would work and so i would have to close internet explorer and start again.

the second problem is bandwidth... it seems to use a lot of bandwidth.

have either problems been looked into and fixed at all?

realy liked the shout box but as im sure you understand... couldnt use it due to the site keep crashing

My users cannot edit their own shouts, what could be causing this?

Shawn installed it for me and its a custom job. In order to ban people or groups I just had to add it to the template. Mine is working just wonderful. I have time stamp smilies full edit and support for all characters. Not sure whats different in this one compaired to whats handed out but I know its working just great my server load dropped way down. Real happy with it and Shawns "Shazz" work installing it.
I was looking thru the templates and I can not find any of the code or hooks people are talking about here to get it displayed on all pages. I just installed a few new styles today and I'm able to get the shout on forum home but not all pages.

the only reference i've seen to this is here --> VBshout 2.1 on all pages

so check at vborg and hopefully the answer is there for you
