Hey there,

First release here, I'm sure most might know me from over at vB.org, in anycase they broke my vBShout, so here's a fixed version, with a few extra bits:

- Flatfile System (Seriously cuts any intensity this once created before)
- Bug Fix: ' used to break edit shout
- Bug Fix: Users couldn't edit/delete their shouts
- Bug Fix: Parsing problem (that vb.org created..)
- Feature Disabled: Timestamps, this is unfortunatly due to using a flat file system.

Enjoy everyone, if you have the previous vBShout installed, I suggest uninstallation the previous vBShout product then installating this one fresh (saves you havning to revert templates).

Also, this will work for any vB 3.5 installation

You can Change it if you want, it's just so you know where it's going to be than searching your 10,000 file folder (ok, maybe not that bad but mine is :p)

Submit that as a bug report i don't think it should happen.

Ask ZT, that probably shouldn't happen either...

Well I disagree that I'm 'dissing' it. I'm just raising my concerns over it's efficiency. It's an excellent hack in function but seems awfully wasteful in processing, which makes it unexcellent in terms of board efficiency.

Just to be clear, I respect ZT, I use his quiz hack and I admire his commitment to producing so many hacks. But. On this one, so far as I can work out, the entire shoutbox is generated, and then it checks to see if the user is allowed to see it - and if they're not it's blanked. Why not do the check and if the viewer can't see it, just not generate it to start with? It also generates all the smilies and colour code and then checks to see if they're enabled...

what do you mean Whos shouting box?

you can turn on timestamps but if someone from a different timezone posts then your buggered..

a box on the right side similar to VSHOUT additions that will show you who is active in the shoutbox now?

Hello everybody,

Is there a way to have an auto-pruning system for the shoutbox ? For exemple every 24h... it exists on the 2.0 version but it doesn't work anymore with this version unfortunately...
