Hey there,

First release here, I'm sure most might know me from over at vB.org, in anycase they broke my vBShout, so here's a fixed version, with a few extra bits:

- Flatfile System (Seriously cuts any intensity this once created before)
- Bug Fix: ' used to break edit shout
- Bug Fix: Users couldn't edit/delete their shouts
- Bug Fix: Parsing problem (that vb.org created..)
- Feature Disabled: Timestamps, this is unfortunatly due to using a flat file system.

Enjoy everyone, if you have the previous vBShout installed, I suggest uninstallation the previous vBShout product then installating this one fresh (saves you havning to revert templates).

Also, this will work for any vB 3.5 installation

all I get is loading.... it has been working fine for about a week.

I have tried to disable and re-enable but it is still not working....any ideas?


I have also command the filedir and the file to 777

still nothing

What exactly happened to your board to make you think you were hacked?
Even with the BBcode option off anyone can post html or embed flash.

Okay I figured what it was. If you turn off the option to allow vBCode/Smilies then users will be able to post html.

anyone know how to auto-parse links to X length? Anytime someone puts up a long URL - it resizes the box and makes it very awful looking.

I'm kind of hoping this wouldn't require all links on the site to be parsed to this length, only shouts.

it would mean "resizing" it globally across the forum, not just the SB.

I installed the current hack from vb.org on 3.6.4 and it seems to be working fine. I have a decent sized site on a dedicated server and I'm not seeing a huge load, but I'm glad I found this forum anyway just in case.

I have a question for some of the advanced coders here, though.

I have a video chat that I open from 8-midnight. I'd like to automatically turn this chat off at that time, and direct the visitors to the chat with a link.

How can I accomplish this?
