And with out a time stamp know one knows when the last shout was made. I find this version to be unacceptable at it's current status. Seems more like a quick fix then a upgrade or new version.
I'm looking at vbPortal's shoutbox which does have every thing I need, waiting for the download. I just don't see this version as a real anwser to professional looking sites, or larger boards. May be if you have a small forum and don't mind no timestamp and are ok with it's current speed and little bumps like having to relogin more often. I think the older version which many sites still use on older vb versions smokes this newer version.
Just my honest observation and opinion mate. Out of 5 stars I would give this may be 3 stars. |
Didn't mean anything negative.
When the ShoutBox would not run right for me and others, we knew something was wrong, even when others tried to say we did something wrong.
Obviously, since it runs right now, it was something in the combination of the servers we were on and the script. Just not an issue for everyone.
Might be the same for you.
All I am saying is that the script itself runs faster the old 2.0. And cleaner.
There is absolutely no slow down for me.
So, it looks like, from experience, your having issues between your vB and the server. Another upgrade may fix it for you.
You can add the time stamps. How is laid out in prior posts.
Having the shoutbox, time stamps and the rest is personal preference.
That is all I am saying. No argument intended. ;)
As for FF. I tried it and dumped it. Too many problems with too many sites.
I run 2 sites, one with vB and one with SMF. Also had phpBB before. None played nice with FF.
