Hey there,

First release here, I'm sure most might know me from over at vB.org, in anycase they broke my vBShout, so here's a fixed version, with a few extra bits:

- Flatfile System (Seriously cuts any intensity this once created before)
- Bug Fix: ' used to break edit shout
- Bug Fix: Users couldn't edit/delete their shouts
- Bug Fix: Parsing problem (that vb.org created..)
- Feature Disabled: Timestamps, this is unfortunatly due to using a flat file system.

Enjoy everyone, if you have the previous vBShout installed, I suggest uninstallation the previous vBShout product then installating this one fresh (saves you havning to revert templates).

Also, this will work for any vB 3.5 installation

make sure you enable ajax feature of the board, otherwise, it will say loading.

Has anyone created an inline edit system? For example, I'd like a small X image next to every post that only shows for mods and allows them to delete messages on the fly without going to the archive page. I am mainly using this in the CMPS module format, so something that works with that would be great.

First symptom logout member after this on shoutbox say this message "Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /vbshout.php on line 293" Is this thing Fixed in 2.1??? And are greek letters working???

I noticed if you logout(to clear cookie) with vbshout font-style and/or color set to something other than default, you get an error on page and vbshout only shows 'loading...'.

the error:
'line: 1489
char: 15
error: object required'
this is the line i think ' memory_color = fetch_cookie('vbshout_color')'

If you set the settings to default before you log-out, then everything is fine.

I dont know if the only way to fix this is to add some lines to clear the vbshout stuff in the cookie when you log out.
I kinda like how it saves the settings so if i log in again, my font and color is still there but I think it's better if theres a way to view the shoutbox too with all that settings intact while logged in as Guest. Some people just wanna be Guest and lurk sometimes.

Do you run THIS version? The Flat file version attached in this thread? You have timestamps in your shoutbox. This attached version don't use timestamps without modifying it.

If you use this version, would you be so kind and post your adv_portal_vbshout template?

And yes, i have ajax enabled. The shoutbox runs on /forum/ but does not run on my portal

I had the Shoutbox on my portal before upgrading to this attached version here. Thanks for help!

I figured out what it is.

It was only comented in some templates. But, I didn't comment them in, so it must have still been in there from the previous install of vBShout 2.0. Could it be?

I have vbshout 2.1 and Vba CMPS 2.2

I put shoutbox on a module but the fix for displaying timestamp is not working with the module, it display [ 1160480420 ] as the date. :cross-eye

On my forum homepage the date is correct

what is wrong? Thank you. :classic:
