Hey there,

First release here, I'm sure most might know me from over at vB.org, in anycase they broke my vBShout, so here's a fixed version, with a few extra bits:

- Flatfile System (Seriously cuts any intensity this once created before)
- Bug Fix: ' used to break edit shout
- Bug Fix: Users couldn't edit/delete their shouts
- Bug Fix: Parsing problem (that vb.org created..)
- Feature Disabled: Timestamps, this is unfortunatly due to using a flat file system.

Enjoy everyone, if you have the previous vBShout installed, I suggest uninstallation the previous vBShout product then installating this one fresh (saves you havning to revert templates).

Also, this will work for any vB 3.5 installation

Works in Firefox, I use IE7 Beta though, so I'm not sure on IE6, but it may be a bug with IE7, or are you using a different browser?

I used Opera and it doesn't work, I'll try Firefox and it doesn't work too... in IE that's the same case... maybe it's in the vb configuration because on my forums the € works perfectly...

Nevertheless it's juste a detail, my members are able to write "euros" it's not too hard :p

My smilies dont work unless i put them in [img] tags...I have allow bbcode and smilies ticked in the options too.Any ideas.

very nice. working great on my site, and i'm noticing all the little things that were acting up before are working fine now. thanks!

anyway to generate a report?? i want to read the shouts periodically, and looking through the archive is tough because 1) its backwards and 2) it only shows a few on the page. thanks for any help

Hey blacklancer,

thanks for coming here from vborg and using this, you should be able to just add another file to the flatfile system that clears every week/day keeping track of shouts OR you could set it up to pm you with the latest 200 shouts

Great to see a new version of this.. thanks for the bugfixes m8. Too bad the timestamps are gone.. and what about security? I have my shoutbox enabled for my customers only (so the public can't see it), but everyone who knows the url to the html file can read the shouts...
