Hey there,

First release here, I'm sure most might know me from over at vB.org, in anycase they broke my vBShout, so here's a fixed version, with a few extra bits:

- Flatfile System (Seriously cuts any intensity this once created before)
- Bug Fix: ' used to break edit shout
- Bug Fix: Users couldn't edit/delete their shouts
- Bug Fix: Parsing problem (that vb.org created..)
- Feature Disabled: Timestamps, this is unfortunatly due to using a flat file system.

Enjoy everyone, if you have the previous vBShout installed, I suggest uninstallation the previous vBShout product then installating this one fresh (saves you havning to revert templates).

Also, this will work for any vB 3.5 installation

On the problem of the editor not showing.

I put up a test board and installed. All seems fine.

So, added back just the Remember Me. The box shows checked, as it should.

But, on my real board, it did not show checked. So I rechecked the 4 adds.

Three of the had reverted to default template. No clue why.

So, I added them back, rechecked, and they are there as of now.

But the Remember Me box does not show checked.

Any ideas why this is not showing checked?

I believe this is related to the ShoutBox issues.

Remember, I am not the only one having this problem.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

You mean the remember me box when you login? That shouldn't be checked by default that is just your browser remembering your habits.

I added Remember Me always checked per here.

On my test board it now shows checked when not logged in. But on my live board it does not show checked.

I believe there is a connection between that issue and the random showing of the editor in the shoutbox.

Any ideas why it is not showing checked on my modded live board, but is on the test board where I only added the ShoutBox and Remember Me?

Both have the same Remember Me script change applied.

OK. Might help some others as well. Maybe.

I did a vanilla install on a vanilla DB for a test. Added the Mods back.

All worked fine and the Remember Me stayed checked as well.

Moved the vanilla over the old DB, and the problems were back.

Deleted the vanilla and created a new DB. copied the DB over and the folder.

Reverted all templates and removed all mods. Thought that might clean up the DB and get rid of the error.

It doesn't. Even stripped down the Remember Me will not stay checked.

On phpBB there was a DB cleaner. Stripped down the DB to the base tables and such, leaving user, post, etc. info intact.

Is there any such thing for vBulletin? I am not finding it, if there is.

don't think so though i am pretty sure that it has nothing to do with the shoutbox.

I think you are right in not being ShoutBox.

I found one issue and that fixed one thing.

Working my way through things.

Somehow, on the upgrade from 3.5.4, some files got altered that should not have been altered. I am finding, here and there, and fixing.

Thanks for answering. This aint' fun, but I will get through it. :confused:
