Hey there,

First release here, I'm sure most might know me from over at vB.org, in anycase they broke my vBShout, so here's a fixed version, with a few extra bits:

- Flatfile System (Seriously cuts any intensity this once created before)
- Bug Fix: ' used to break edit shout
- Bug Fix: Users couldn't edit/delete their shouts
- Bug Fix: Parsing problem (that vb.org created..)
- Feature Disabled: Timestamps, this is unfortunatly due to using a flat file system.

Enjoy everyone, if you have the previous vBShout installed, I suggest uninstallation the previous vBShout product then installating this one fresh (saves you havning to revert templates).

Also, this will work for any vB 3.5 installation

I just installed this version and it seems bugged. It randomly losses the post box to type your shout in. When I installed it I seen it. I went to my boards today and the post box was gone. Screenshot included. How do I fix this. It seems like a random issue because sometime others can post yet I can't...

good stuff ZT....
so that may have been why it was HOGGING server resources then?
(it using the database via ajax) instead of a flat file system...?

Cuz man... everytime we switched servers (upgrading) it always seemed the old shoutbox version would almost crash any server we were on previously..

Good stuff well TRY THIS VERSION and hope it exceeds our expectations...

Question Remove Editor field for all banned usergroups
Hello. I want to remove the vBShout 2.1 editor field for all banned usergroup ids. Presently it is only invisible for the unregistered group but it is visible for the other banned usergroup ids which I don't want.

Also how do I remove the member name in front of each shout in the forumhome box? I want to use it as a kind of live announcement box. Thanks for any help.

So many questions so little time:
a) If it doesn't work after you changed it (all pages) re-install and try again
b) greek charset might be the format of the sql db.
c) That seems to be a common error. Try re-installing. I have not had that problem but i didn't upgrade i un-installed the old and installed the new so it could be a dodgy upgrade process
d) it still uses the db but it uses the flatfile AS well.
e) template edits will do it for you.

I thought I had it licked.

But members started loosing it, again, yesterday. Then came back for one.

I lost it today, after 4 day of just fine. In fact, I lost it while logged in and posting. Seems to have disappeared after using the move/merge function.

I know I completely uninstalled 2.0. And installed correctly.

As you say, it is random both in timing and which members get hit.

At least 3 of us are having the identically same issues.

Well the first one would be an if to toggle it using an array and the vb options the second one would be just finding the member name.
