Hey there,

First release here, I'm sure most might know me from over at vB.org, in anycase they broke my vBShout, so here's a fixed version, with a few extra bits:

- Flatfile System (Seriously cuts any intensity this once created before)
- Bug Fix: ' used to break edit shout
- Bug Fix: Users couldn't edit/delete their shouts
- Bug Fix: Parsing problem (that vb.org created..)
- Feature Disabled: Timestamps, this is unfortunatly due to using a flat file system.

Enjoy everyone, if you have the previous vBShout installed, I suggest uninstallation the previous vBShout product then installating this one fresh (saves you havning to revert templates).

Also, this will work for any vB 3.5 installation

Found it.

shout 2.0 did not unistall completely. Found two components still in place.

Not fun.

If you do not mind what did you find still installed from 2.0? I am getting the same problem with editor disappearing every so often.

I Have a question dumb as it may sound but we unstalled this shout on our site and then we installed the coding to make it appear on every page of our site but now we can no longer see the smilies on the shout nor can we change the color of the shouts or the type of font we use the buttons are there the dropdown menus for the color and font are there and seem to function but they dont execute on the shout box . any ideas why ?if someone can help us out we would greatly appreciate it

Does anyone know how can I change the encoding of the flat file shout box?
This one can not show greek characters, but version 2.0 could!
What happens????

I did not post back, but I was wrong on still installed. It turned out to be another problem.

I did the always checked Remember Me for logins, but where I got it from was incomplete. If you don't do all of the things found in this link, both posts, the Shoutbox will drop the editor.

Hmm A couple suggestions:

Maybe have a time option? which would be displayed before the username column - Admin CP Control-able

The * Dan2k3k4 /me command - if it's possible, it should show the /me text in the username column/it should only use 1 column for the /me lines... since it looks a little weird when it appears after a large blank where the username would normally go...
Also how would I add the shoutbox to other places on my forums? would I insert:

$shoutbox

or something else? :? Thanks!

hmmmm I run it on a windows box, any ideas how I can set the file to writable on windows box? doesn't work with ftp client =/


edit: or is there any way it could display the shouts directly from mysql db?
