Hey there,

First release here, I'm sure most might know me from over at vB.org, in anycase they broke my vBShout, so here's a fixed version, with a few extra bits:

- Flatfile System (Seriously cuts any intensity this once created before)
- Bug Fix: ' used to break edit shout
- Bug Fix: Users couldn't edit/delete their shouts
- Bug Fix: Parsing problem (that vb.org created..)
- Feature Disabled: Timestamps, this is unfortunatly due to using a flat file system.

Enjoy everyone, if you have the previous vBShout installed, I suggest uninstallation the previous vBShout product then installating this one fresh (saves you havning to revert templates).

Also, this will work for any vB 3.5 installation

installed and it only appears in one of 3 styles

where do I look to see why its only showing up in one style

I absolutely love the shoutbox but twice now, I have had to remove it from my site due to it being so server exhaustive.

Is there a way to make it more server friendly at all?

Hi, am actually using this on 3.7.4 and am not having any problems, but would love to be able to archive the shoutbox instead of just pruning it....is this possible? Was over at vb.org, and finally found this site, so am hoping to finally find an answer to this. Will def. check this site out for my hacks instead of org, don't seem to get any answers over there, and they don't even have 2.1, so will try it over here, and look forward to getting some better help, and maybe better hacks over here. Thanks

What I think may be helpful would be to disable the 'Shoutbox' link to the stats page where all the pages are stored. I'm convinced members clicking on this and rooting through unpruned pages causes the site to lag slightly.

Anybody here know how that could be done at all?

Well, I've just tried to run it with the latest version of vB and for some reason, it doesn't work. Although v2.0 over on vBulletin.org does work.

Shame really because I preferred v2.1 as I hated the timestamp in the shoutbox.
