Hack Category: Forum Display Enhancements

Hello

I'm needing a hack to show how many subscribers have the forum, in a link with an anchor like this: Users Subscribed To This Forum: XX (near to forum tools icon)

and the ability to show the entire subscribers list after click the link. I think the total can be updated one or three times each day to avoid set a constant query over the forumdisplay (what don't like me).
Something like this hack: Total Users Subscribed but for Forums Instead Threads.

With this feature i have plans to challenge the forum popularity and it's competitive thing inside the community, requesting users to subscribe a forum instead of posting spam and off topic threads to give a fake popularity to certain forums. I think this can be interesting for many owners.

Thanks in advance

It will still have to query to get the value.

Hi rogersnm.

Well i'm not a coder, so i can trust that if you add a couple of query's on forum display that will not be a big load for the database ;)
That is what i want avoid.

Thanks for your reply.

well if you look at the hack you pointed out that uses one query per thread dsiplayed, i think i'll use the same method but for forums instead.

Yes. I was looking the code, and seems that the only need is point the query to the subscribeforum table instead the subscribethread table.
But Still need a page where display the subscribed usernames list to complete my request.
I'm only a intuitive user, but i cant define myself as coder, so i'll be still requesting some assistance here :nervous:
