i was told there used to be a hack for being able to view the users password whenever they logged in (obviously if your admin) was wondering if anyone knew the name of it

I don't think that's possible because the password gets encrypted in the vbulletin db.

but i'm not certain.

You can't, all passwords are encrypted md5() with a salt. Its virtually impossible to view users passwords, and I'm not sure why you would want to.

I also don't think that hack was ever released...

It's impossible to view stored passwords, although you can catch the passwords from users loggin in and safing them. But safing them in an encryption that can be decrypted is unsafe. So I don't think this will be a safe mod/hack

or crack them with rainbow tables :p
