I have a paid section to my site and am looking for a hack that would requires certain groups a length of time before they can download a file.

I dont want them to not be able to download just means they have to wait.

Ie a paid user can download files straight away.

A normal user must wait 12hr.

just set 2 diff usergroups diff rights in each forum from admincp
then set up promo options for regged 1 day and then change to the other usergroup.

but then i might be talking ****.lol

No this would work, but once they are promoted they can download all files.

it must be a simple

if ((TIMENOW - attachment.dateline < 43200) and $bbusergroup = 2) {
... you are not allowed to download

Just not sure how to accomplish this.

But once upgraded they can download all attachments, whether they have waited 12hours or not.

Simply dropping the member level once they have downloaded 1 file will mean a 12 hour wait to download another file.

so your saying they gotta keep paying??????????
not just pay to axx a members area.

No paying members have no wait (attachments are visible to all), all other members must wait 12 hrs from postdate to download the attachments...


Example..

User 1 post a message at 01:24 with an attachment

User 2 posts a message at 03:24 with another attachment

user 3 is a paid up member and downloads both attachments straight away

User 4 is just a registered member and must wait until 13:24 for attachment 1 and 15:24 for attachment 2....


Does that make more sense.


Now a user can pay for the privledge of having no wait, or wait until there account is upgraded on its merits.
