This is just a suggestion, but do you ever get threads that have 3 different sub-topics inside them? Lets say you make a new annoucement about something you will get a bunch of people just saying "Thanks" or "Awesome news" a few people offering "suggestions" and "tweaks" and some "complaining"
Well wouldn't it be cool to see these 3 categories (or any custom category) inside a post? so when you click on a thread you will see the first post and below have links to either:
"View All Posts" [Total_Number_Of_Posts]
"View: Thank you posts" [Number_of_posts_for_this_category]
"View: Suggestive posts" [Number_of_posts_for_this_category]
"View: Complaints" [Number_of_posts_for_this_category]
Then by clicking on say "View: Thank you posts" you will only see the posts that are marked as a "Thank You" post...
When creating a new thread it should have the option to add categories for that thread, and to customize it (just like adding a poll!) - You would also need to set a default category for your post (or you could exclude this option then when people reply from "viewing all" it will just use the top category/1st category that was added)
When replying to the thread you should be able to choose which category your post should be placed in (if you were viewing only the Thank You posts it will already have the Thank You category selected - but this can be changed anyway)
Moderators should be allowed to change the categories of a thread and change the selected category of any post.
When viewing the threadlist and then you click on "last post" or "get new" it should display all the threads/posts as normal...
I think this would be a decent feature, but what do you guys think? what would you tweak/improve for it?
(P.S. I can't create this as I don't know much vB and have little time - but if one of the coders finds this suggestion/idea great and wants to make this then go ahead!)
