Default ShoutCast Statistics request

(Just gonna quote what I said on vbulletin.org... doesn't look like anyone there is gonna help)

Quote:
http://shoutcast.com/

SHOUTcast is Nullsoft's Free Winamp-based distributed streaming audio system.

Basically it's a free thing that lets people run little radio shows, it's pretty cool and a hit with forum members.

Now what i'm after is like a little block to go under the forum home header/navbar that will show the following information...

Radio show name (click on it to listen to the show)
Radio show host (click on it to go to the user's profile)
Current song being played
# of listeners

If the show's not on the air, i'd like the stats block to either not show at all, or say that nobody is on the air.

I KNOW there's been some requests for this on here, and I've looked all over the internet... the only hack for vBulletin i've been able to find is...
http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=59659
...but it's a little too simple.

So, anyone think they could do this?...maybe not exactly like i've said, but something similar.

Well... to help you guys out... I've found this hack

http://www.krinj.net/misc/djstatus.php

I emailed the guy about getting it working on vb and he replied with...

If you know how to fool around with vB, you can place the stats anywhere you want. If you're putting it in a PHP file, use this code:

include("djstatus/index.php");

Of course, edit the path to be correct.
If you are putting it in an HTML template file, use this:

<?php include("djstatus/index.php"); ?>

You can format the text around it by using simple <font> tags or <span> for CSS styles. It's in plain text, and that is why. ;)

It's free... but i'm not sure exactly what to do and how to get this working properly with vB. So, maybe if someone could modify it or, at least help make it work with vBulletin...that would be great.

...So i'm helping some of you guys may be able to help me out. :nod:

Do you have a screenshot of what the program looks like? If it's a small box just do the include line in a template you want it to be in. If its huge then it might be possible to shrink it.

Ever used winamp? Shoutcast is basically a plugin for that that allows you to set up a radio show.

That guy that I emailed has already done a php file for it, but... it's not made for vBulletin. So... i'd like someone to maybe look at it and edit it to work with vB... and do the template stuff etc. I'm useless with that.

The work's basically done, just needs modifying for vBulletin

I'm an internet radio dj so course i've used winamp :p I use SAM 2 though for most dj'ing stuff now as its more advanced. All the info you asked for is easly done as it pulls from xml, however being able to intergrade it with the vbulletin user info is near impossible as theirs no way for shoutcast to know who is dj'ing

The link the DJ's give to listen to their shows uses their IP's... and their IP's are static, so wont change.

Links are like - http://IPort/listen.pls
Helpful?

If you can't make it show the user info from vBulletin etc... could you just do it with what there is available. They were just extra bits I wanted

Thanks
