and one more noob question.. if i use database to store attachments will it increase mysql db size? because my forum is about pictures and its using 500mb+ attacment space.

I think i am asking too much but xyz can you please make one mod for attachments stored in file system also.. but i wil surely install your db attachment storage also.

You should never store attachments in a database, unless your on shared hosting and your file system limit does not allow enough space to store attachments. It's very bad logic to do this , no matter how good of a system you might have! Sure it does make it easier to manage the files using a db, but the resource penalty is never worth the manageability aspect of blob type storage!


The mod will work with both storage types (IO, DB), it will switch based on the storage being used!

I will post it tomorrow morning. I have it done, but I don't have time at the moment to make the screens and package it up. When I drop the kids of at the movies tonight I will have time to do that!
