Hi Everyone,
Since I'm on a roll, I thought I'd just add this one too.
I run an online shop that runs on Joomla and Virtuemart. I also run vBulletin as my forum software. These two sites are only as integrated as you can get with a link on each pointing to the other. This, I wish to change.
My requirements are as follows:
- Must use one single user DB, being maintained either in a single, new user update interface page, or in either the Virtuemart, Joomla or Vbulletin user update pages. However, obviously changes will have to be made since there are fields that's not available on all the platforms.
- The forums must be integrated into the centre panel of Joomla, and have a link in the menu structure that replaces whatever is inside the centre panel at that moment, with the forum home page.
- The user must have his control panel set up so that he/she can update all their information (in either of the platforms) in the same place.
- Both must use the same template system (Joomla work's well, so why not) so that they both look the same.
That's pretty much it.
I hope you guys consider it, since I've read on quote a few places that it's a really big requirement and there are two, semi usefull, half finished integrations available called vBridge and vbConnect or something. Neither works and the guys that originally wrote them isn't into writing them again.
One Hack is needed that will replace both these failed attempts.
Thanks if you're considering this.
Cheers
