I understand my hack go out the window when upgrading but I'm unable to reinstall

the hack AdColumn v1.

In the control panel the option is added for Advertisement Columns but nothing is there for me to turn them on or off.

under default style templates / custom templates both the adcolumn_left and adcolumn_right
are there

I upgraded to vb3.07 from 3.01 where it worked fine. has anyone else had this problem
or know how to fix it?

The problem seems to be in MySQL

Database error in vBulletin 3.0.7:

Invalid SQL:
INSERT INTO settinggroup (grouptitle, displayorder, volatile) VALUES ('adcolumn', '600', 1)

mysql error: Duplicate entry 'adcolumn' for key 1

mysql error number: 1062

any way around this?

i have no idea what the problems in your first msg, guess its missing parts of the code.
about the second message, there's a duplicated column meaning, volatile is the key in settinggroup and you cant enter 2 keys that are the same, you have to go to phpmyadmin and delete from settinggroup this ROW then the problem will go, donnu what caused it cause i havent seen the file, but this is the solution.

Thanks Fury I did what you said and removed the column...

It did not help but I did get a different error message.

because you led me in the right direction I did correct the issue with the database.

Seems like the install script did not complete entirely so I manually went in and added the missing records and values.

everything works fine now...thanks again
