Question Members Keep Post Count After Deleting Post/Thread

I'd really like my members to be able to keep their post count after a post or thread they made has been deleted. Is there a way to do this?

I apologize in advance if this little hack has already been done... I didn't see it.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Soft delete the thread, or just move the thread to a hidden forum called Trash Can.

I hear you and I've been doing this... was just hoping their was some little hack like their used to be for vb2 that kept the members post count even when a post/thread was deleted.

I'm sure some code guru around here can come up with a little something... *crosses fingers*

This might work. Not tested though:

In includes/functions_databuild.php

Find:
You must first be a registered member to view any code.
Replace with:
You must first be a registered member to view any code.
Same file Find:
You must first be a registered member to view any code.
Replace with:
You must first be a registered member to view any code.
All this is doing is commenting out the query to take away one post from the users post count when the thread/post is being delted.

Do this and make a test thread on your site. Remember your post count, then delete your test post and see if your post count remains the same.

Nope, it still decreased the post count by 1.
