I saw this great hacks here, but they are all for 3.07 etc, would love to have it for 3.5.3 or is it better that I get an older version of my board?

You need to read forum, there upgrading it right now

Never downgrade your board just so you can run a hack as older versions have been updated for a reason; Usually a vulnerability.

If you are desperate then atleast apply all available patches.

Actually, the vB 3.0.xx versions are still supported and safe - security updates are released for these aswell.
