Default IRC on frontpage?

Hack Category: Add-On Releases
Has anyone ever seen a hack where an IRC channel shows itself on the frontpage of your vbulletin forum (the Index page)?
I've seen hacks using flash and java, but all are on seperate pages. Any ideas?

if you had a java applet you COULD paste the embed code for the IRC java applet into the template information for your theme.. dunno how well that would work but its an idea
