Idea for new posts

Is there any way to make hack that would show in New Posts something like this:

-There are 12 new posts in General Disscussion Forum

-There are 15 new posts in Software and Hardware Forum

...

...

That would make users to spend more time on forum

If anyone can make this it would be great

It's certainly possible, but it would add one query per forum/category (depending what you choose), which would cause very high server load.

Are you sure about that? It would add a query per forum to your forumhome, if you have a lot of forums that would probably kill your server.
