Question I need a script..

I need a script that this do an "auto-close" on a thread, with a user (for example, with a user called "admin").

When thread catches up 40 pages, my user-bot (in this case, "admin") close this.. in automatic.

It's possible? :squareeye

Thanks for replyes!

There's a hack by LiveWire which automaticly closes a thread after a set amount of time, but afaik there's no hack which does this based on the replycount.

Take a look at the construct_pagenav function, that should have the info.

Its somewhere in the function files, don't ask me in which one though as I wouldn't know :p

You can set it per user though it's in the user cp, Ah well i guessed:

Upload the attached file to forum root/includes/cron/

Go into Admin CP > Scheduled Tasks > Add New Scheduled Task >
Title: Auto-Close Threads after 40 posts
Day of the Week: *
Day of the Month: *
Hour: 0
Minute: 0 - - -
Log Entries: Yes (up to you really)
Filename: ./includes/cron/auto_close.php
Attached Files
File Type: php auto_close.php (1.0 KB, 7 views)

That will close all the threads with more than 999 replies (1000 posts) Every Day at midnight. If you want to do it every hour change Hour to * and leave minute as it is. If you want to run it every 15 minutes change hour to * and Minute to 0, 15, 30, 45
