I don't understand you. You can choose to make thumbnails for each file type in the attachment manager.

To check thumbnails are enabled for attachments..

Go to your admincp>>Attachments>>Attachment Manager>>
You will see all your file extensions that are available to be attached on your forum.
.....................................
At the right hand side is a drop down box with options for each extension.
Choose Edit and click Go
.....................................
Find
Display thumbnail for this type?
This only applies to image files of the extensions: bmp, gif, jpe, jpg, jpeg, png, psd, tif and tiff. The creation of a thumbnail for any image type is not guaranteed.
make sure this is set to yes
.............................
Then choose Update
.............................

Do this for each extension you want thumbnails enabled for..

This will enable thumbnails in your attachments, but as it says for images only...
