no. I mean when you merge a thread in the php file it send off some querys to the database telling them to merge the thread. Thats where it picks thread date. Once you change it to pick the other thread date it will always pick the other thread date.

dont forget a manual edit is not much usefull or "easy", unless you have on your desktop some gmt-2-unixtimestamp convertor ;)

i like the idea though, indeed should be handy modification.
