Duplicate thread to another forum

I need to be able to duplicate a newthread to another forum, usergroup specific. Can anyone help me out with this one?

If your too busy to build the hack can you point me in the right direction so I might try to build it etc etc.

I've spent quite a lot of time editing functions_newpost afetr speaking with shaved last night in an attempt to do this for myself...with no joy. He also mentioned that I would need to dd something to postings.php, I have no idea what to add.

In the first I have tried adding these parts in verious places..

$forumid = 16;
if ('usergroupid' == 6) {

But apart from duplicating the post in the same place, its not working...any ideas anyone?
