Default Disabling IP address Viewing for Moderators

Hello all. I have been trying to find a way to disable IP address viewing for Supermoderators and Moderators.

It appears you cannot disalble it for Supermoderators as that is defaulted from what I understand for always viewing IP addys.

It is my understanding that you CAN disable Moderators from viewing IP addys. However, I have tried with no luck. The reason I want to do this is because we have an Anonymous posting feature and would like to have a little fun with our mods at times. But they can see who the anonymous poster is.

I did the following:

Usergroup Manager>Moderators>Edit

In Administrator Permissions:

Can View IP Addresses: NO

Can Moderate All Forums (is Supermoderator) NO
Can Access Control Panel (is Administrator) NO

I then made the test account the following:

Primary Usergroup: Moderators

Forum Manager>Add Moderators

I made this test account a moderator of ONE forum.

Here is what I saw:

The test account appeared to be a Registered Member with no powers in all the sections except for the one I assigned him as Moderator. In the section that he was assigned, he had moderator powers and the IP address icon was still present. I think this is what the settings are supposed to be to disable him from viewing IP's but he is still seeing them. Am I still missing something here?

If this cannot be done is there a way to remove that icon in every post that allows you to see the IP address of the post? Thanks!

I just learned you have to edit a member's moderator permissions as you make them a moderator of a forum. That is the way to do it.
