(default) sort threads by date posted.

Hi,

I have searched all over the place for something that will allow me to set the default sort method of all posts in all forums to "by date posted" (not by date of latest reply). vb.org doesn't have anything (except sarcastic comments about "why would you need that?").

I used invisionfree ages ago, and it had this option built right in. I even posted at vbulletin.com a while ago hoping it would be included in a new version, but if it has, I havn't found a way to do it.

If someone knows better, or could make a hack to acomplish this easily, I'd really appreciate it.

Previously I found a hack at for 3.0.7 that worked, but applying it to 3.5.4 yielded "undesirable results" to put it mildly I don't know much about PHP, but the hack itself was only a few lines of code, so I don't think this would be a mammoth undertating (?).

Well, I have no idea whether this will work or not, but you can give it a go.

Make a new plugin, and assign it to this hook:

You must first be a registered member to view any code.

as PHP code, add:

You must first be a registered member to view any code.

Let me know whether that does(n't) work, and if you would like any other functions to be added

Awesome! I just gave this a try, and from all my preliminary tests, it appears to work perfectly! Thanks SO much!
